Mr. Hugh Browne is a co-founder and Managing Director of P4G where he leads all aspects of the investment cycle, including sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, deal structuring and portfolio company management. Mr. Browne serves on multiple boards for P4G’s investments and drives its investment strategy and team development.
Mr. Browne brings a unique perspective as an operator from his experience supplementing the management in his portfolio companies and his experience prior to becoming an investor. He has over 10 years of experience in Venture Capital, Growth Equity and Private Equity industries. Prior to the creation of P4G, Mr. Browne was a Principal with Rho Capital Partners, where he was primarily responsible for driving deal flow and securing, structuring and processing the transactions for the firm. In addition to his transaction experience, Mr. Browne has extensive experience with post-close portfolio management and value creation, as either a board member, board observer or as a part of company management on an interim or project basis. Mr. Browne has served as Chairman, as a member of the audit, compensation and M&A committees as well as inline operating roles in business development and as a CFO. Prior to Rho Capital Partners, Mr. Browne spent five years at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on various principal investing and operational activities. While at Morgan Stanley, he closed numerous transactions as a member of the Venture Capital, Real Estate and Strategic Investments groups. Additionally, Mr. Browne served in an operational capacity in the office of Chief Technology Officer, where he worked on merger integration, partnership development and strategic planning. He also built and managed the firm’s vendor risk management practice. Mr. Browne received his M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, where he was a Toigo Scholar, and a B.S.E. in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was an Ervin Scholar.
